Eric Hopkins
Eric J. Hopkins, 43, Hilliard, passed away Jan. 7, 2014.
He was a loving son, husband and father and was at home with his family when he passed. We know he is with our Lord, as a healthy young man, in his baseball uniform, ready to play.
Surviving are his loving wife, Sandi Hopkins; a son and daughter, Jared and Rachel Hopkins, Hilliard; his parents, Dr. Dennis P. and Gwen Hopkins, Bourbonnais, Ill.; grandmother, Donna Winkel, Indianapolis, Ind.; in-laws, Tony and Mary Ellen Kremer, Celina, Rob and Andrea (Kremer) Beeson, Hilliard, and Brian and Robin (Kremer) Ripley, Denver, Colo.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was a graduate of Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School in Bourbonnais, Ill., and was a 1993 graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a degree in mechanical engineering. He also played baseball for MIT. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and worked for the Ford Motor Company in Livonia, Mich., and recently worked at Caterpillar in Summerville, S.C.
Calling is noon-2 p.m. Monday at Tidd Funeral Home with Crematory, Hilliard. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for Jared's and Rachel's college funds.
