During the predawn hours, winds will increase ahead of a low pressure system moving east through the lower Great Lakes. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected through this afternoon, possibly gusting to 45 mph in a few spots. Wind is expected to decrease overnight but remain relatively strong at 20-25 mph this evening.
Please be aware of these strong winds especially if driving a higher profile vehicle. Secure loose outdoor objects and shore up seasonal decorations if possible.

The humanitarian award went to Mercer County Emergency Response Volunteers. Accepting the award were Mark Heinl, secretary Brad Schadt, president Jim Gengler, vice president Ben Stoner and treasurer Zach Piper, along with Sheriff Jeff Grey.
