Carl Buck
Carl Buck, 90, Celina, passed away at 8:40 a.m. April 27, 2014, at Celina Manor Nursing Home, Celina.
He was born March 7, 1924, in Celina, to Carl and Blanche (West) Buck. On April 4, 1953, he married Norma Jean Kuhn, who died Feb. 7, 2012.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Kay (Rick) Krogman, Celina; two grandchildren, Amanda (Mitch) McGee and Drew Krogman; great-granddaughter, Myra McGee; and a sister, Marjorie Miesse, Celina.
He was preceded in death by his sisters and brother-in-law, Iola and Frank Schuck, Berniece and Elmer Germann, Beatrice Miller, Mildred and Glen Willrath, Burnice Buck and Robert Miesse, and his brothers, Herschel and Dorothy Buck, Leondis and Ruth Buck and Donald Buck.
He graduated from Celina High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe until 1946. He was a retired welder from General Dynamics, Lima. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina, and a member of the Celina Masonic Lodge 241 F & AM. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed the Cincinnati Reds and reading a good book.
He donated his body to the Ohio State Anatomical Gift Program.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Diane Mendelson officiating. His committal will be in North Grove Cemetery at a later date.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where there will be Masonic Lodge services at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina, or State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.
