Betty Pond
Betty J. Pond, 87, Celina, died at 6:30 a.m. May 1, 2014, at her residence.
She was born July 1, 1926, in Decatur, Ind., to Orval R. and Goldie Burkhead Roop. On Jan. 22, 1949, she married Robert Pond, who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are a sister, Marylin (Dee M.) Byerly, Wabash, Ind., and six nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three sisters, Bonnie Rich, Annabelle Baughn and Rose Roop, and two nieces and nephews.
She attended high school in Decatur and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Celina.
She was retired from Goodyear in St. Marys after 17 years and worked with her husband at Baker Electric. She also owned Betty Pond Ceramics and Pond Greenware Shop.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Matt Overman officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
