* WHERE...In Indiana, Wayne County. In Ohio, Auglaize, Darke, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, and Shelby Counties.
* WHEN...From 6 AM to noon EST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...While temperatures are expected to be in the upper single digits (above zero), a northwest wind at 10-15 mph will make temperatures feel as if they are colder than 10 below zero.

Helen Shinabery

Helen Pauline Shinabery, 93, Rockford, died at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 16, 2014, at VanCrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.

She was born July 29, 1921, in Ohio City, to Peter W. and Loretta Louetta Rayer Wiseman. On Oct. 17, 1941, she married Darlene M. Shinabery, who died Dec. 17, 1993.

Surviving are five children, Sandi (James) Allmyer, Mason, Bruce (Marcella) Shinabery, Van Wert, Brent Shinabery, Rockford, Vikki (Kerry) Kauffman, Decatur, Ind., and Victor (Donna) Shinabery, St. Marys; a sister, Thelma "Tootie" Allen, Rockford; seven grandchildren, Carey (Kristin) Allmyer, Kara Kauffman, Ryan Shinabery, Stephanie Shinabery, Kyle Kauffman, Kendra Kauffman and Matthew (Ashley) Shinabery; a stepgranddaughter, Chelli (Rodney) Sheffar; a great-grandson, Jayson Allmyer; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Dolan and Emma Haynes and Adam Sheffar.

Deceased are four brothers, Paul Wiseman, Waldo Wiseman, Robert Wiseman and Lloyd "Bud" Wiseman, and two sisters, Emma Lou Myers and Marcile Edna McDougal.

She had worked at Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford, and retired from Shane Hill Nursing Home, also of Rockford, after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Ohio City, and the 37th Division of Ladies Auxiliary.

Services are 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, Pastor Chad Strabbing officiating. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery.

Calling is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
