CELINA - U.S. farmers are on track to reap record corn and soybean harvests, an area ag official announced at Thursday's monthly Mercer County agriculture breakfast.

CELINA - The Celina girls tennis team rebounded from a tough loss to undefeated Western Buckeye League leader Wapakoneta on Tuesday to shut out cross-lake rival St. Marys 5-0 Thursday afternoon at the Booster Club Tennis Complex.
The win moves the NetDogs to 3-2 in WBL. The Roughriders drop to 1-4 in league matches. [More]

Woodcarver brings dead oak back to life as art in Coldwater
COLDWATER - A lightning-toasted white oak at Coldwater Memorial Park is being crafted into a wooden statue of St. Francis of the Garden.

CELINA - The sole bid received by officials to improve the Mercer County Courthouse parking lot was nearly $10,000 higher than the estimated cost.
CELINA - Celina fell behind early in each of the three sets against Ottawa-Glandorf last evening at the Middle School, and the veteran Titans kept applying the pressure to beat the young Bulldogs in three sets, 25-14, 25-11, 25-13.
COLDWATER - Goalie Brittany Muhlenkamp and the Coldwater defense stood tall when St. Marys turned up the pressure late in the second half.
When time expired, the game had ended in a 2-2 draw Thursday at Village Hall Field.
MINSTER - The last two times head coach Mike Etzler's Coldwater Cavaliers have taken the volleyball court, they opened with losses in the first game, so his goals heading into last evening's battle in Minster were rahter simple.
