Gusty southwest winds will become westerly this afternoon. The strong winds and the recently fallen snow is resulting in some blowing and drifting snow, especially across rural and open areas. This may result in rapid changes in road conditions over short distances. Motorists should exercise extra caution.

Harry Byers Jr.
Harry E. Byers Jr., 89, Celina, died at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 6, 2014, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Dec. 27, 1924, in East Liverpool, to Harry Edward Sr. and Ellen Mae Perrine Devine Byers. His step-parents were Bernard Devine and Martha Leake Byers. On July 13, 1946, he married June M. Tumblin, who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are a son, Gregory B. (Paula R.) Byers, Celina; two grandchildren, Teresa I. Byers and Tamara D. (Shawn) Hill; two great-grandchildren, Colin T. Hill and Ryan C. Hill; three stepbrothers, David Byers of Illinois, Dan (Martie) Byers of Illinois and William Byers of Illinois; two stepsisters, Lois Keisler of Wisconsin and Sally (Robert) Walker of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a stepbrother, Jack Byers, and a stepbrother-in-law, Larry Keisler.
He was a graduate of Jefferson High School, Dresden, Muskingum College, New Concord, and The Ohio State University. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator during World War II. He served at Columbia School, Mount Vernon, and East Muskingum Schools, New Concord, and was principal at Celina West School. He was an elementary teacher and administrator for 27 years.
He was a member of Celina First Presbyterian Church. He served as a lay minister at New Salem Church, rural Mendon, and was a Boy Scout leader and trainer for 50 years. He was awarded the Silver Beaver and God and Country awards.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Celina First Presbyterian Church, Pastor Nan Clancy officiating. Burial will follow at noon Saturday at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina
Memorials may be given to Celina First Presbyterian Church or State of the Heart Hospice.
