Missing man found dead near his ATV

By Kathy Thompson
CELINA - A local man who had been missing since Friday night was found dead Monday afternoon near his ATV that apparently crashed at the Celina compost facility.
Kevin A. Dennis, 24, was reported missing by family and friends Sunday when he didn't show up as expected at a home on Morton Street. Dennis is said to have left a Deford Street home about 11 p.m. Friday, riding a small, yellow four-wheeler, police reports said.
A family member discovered Dennis and the ATV at the compost facility at 541 Summit St. about 12:30 p.m. Monday, police chief Tom Wale said. Friends and law enforcement had been searching for Dennis since Sunday.
Dennis was found with the ATV, and it appears he was alone at the time of an apparent crash, Wale said.
No foul play is expected, and Wale said it appears Dennis died instantly.
An autopsy will be completed by the Montgomery County Coroner's office to determine the exact cause of death and the investigation into the death continues, Wale said.
Friends and family told Celina police officers Dennis normally uses a drive in the Mercer County Fairgrounds to get to the Morton Street home, but a search in that area found nothing, Wale said.
Wale said several pieces that could be attached to a yellow ATV were found at the fairgrounds, but he declined to say whether those pieces came from the ATV Dennis was riding.
