Linus Mescher
Linus Mescher, 90, Celina, died at 11:40 a.m. Dec. 9, 2014, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Coldwater, to Louis and Rose Spoltman Mescher. On Jan. 17, 1987, he married Joan Forsthoefel, who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are two stepsons, Rodney (Sandy) Staugler, Coldwater, and Richard Staugler, Van Wert; a stepdaughter, Theresa (Rodney) Toler, Mendon; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Carl, Ralph, Wilfred and Don, and two sisters, Lucille Homan and Pauline Ruschau.
He was retired from Reynolds and Reynolds, Celina, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Rev. Kenneth Schnipke officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, with services conducted by Celina VFW and American Legion.
Calling is 4-6 p.m. Friday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
