Ruth E. Christian, 94, Celina, died at 12:01 p.m. Dec. 13, 2014, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.

She was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Liberty Township, to Andrew and Lillie Beitler Gehm. On Oct. 19, 1941, she married Roy D. Christian, who died Nov. 25, 1981.

Surviving are a daughter, Carol (Dean) Donovan, Celina; six grandchildren, Laura (Terry) Dickerson, Mark (Amy) Freeman, Jennifer Freeman, Jon Freeman, Mindy (friend Brad Boeckman) Freeman, and Lisa (friend David Schaadt) Freeman; 11 great-grandchildren, Kristin and Jackson Dickerson, Emily and Abby Freeman, Jacob Hart, Adrian Hurley, Johnny Perin, Tiara Freeman, Dusty Hutson, Sierra Freeman and Savanna Freeman; and two brothers, Lester (Blanche) Gehm, Coldwater, and Noel (Leora) Gehm, Mount Olive, Ill.

Also deceased are two brothers, Elmer and Robert Gehm.

She was retired from Buckeye Apparel, Goldstein's and Chief supermarket. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Rockford, and its Women's Fellowship. She also was a member of Hopewell Grange, the Celina Garden Club and the Grand Lake Riding Club.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Rockford, the Rev. Catherine Costello officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. today at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be given to the church or to State of the Heart Hospice.
