St. Marys man who used gun to detain toilet paperers arrested

By Jared Mauch
ST. MARYS - A city resident was arrested Monday after allegedly holding several people against their will for toilet-papering his home.
La-Brian Reed, 35, 438 N. Front St., faces two counts of abduction and one count receiving stolen property. He also was charged with having weapons under disability - illegally possessing weapons after being convicted of a felony.
He is being held at the Auglaize County jail on a $150,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for July 2 in municipal court for the weapons charge.
Reed allegedly caught individuals throwing toilet paper into trees on his property and used a stolen firearm to force them into his residence until police arrived.
St. Marys police refused to release further details about the incident.
