Julius Jutte
Julius A. "Julie" Jutte, 85, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on August 22, 2015, at The Gardens at St. Henry, St. Henry, Ohio.
He was born December 30, 1929, in St. Peter, OH, to the late August and Mary (Moeder) Jutte. On November 25, 1954, he married Betty L. (Hemmelgarn) Jutte, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Victoria (Gary) Westgerdes of Celina, OH, Janet (Jerry) Hemmelgarn of St. Henry, Linda (Ed) Daniel of Fort Loramie, OH, Sharon (Randy) Geier of Coldwater, OH, Chris (Angie) Jutte of Papua, Indonesia, Tony (Anita) Jutte of Fort Recovery, Kathy (Dave) Keller of Fort Recovery, OH, Marty (Mary) Jutte of Portland, IN, Larry (Jean) Jutte of Coldwater, Greg (Jennie) Jutte of Fort Recovery, and Rick (Missie) Jutte of Fort Recovery; siblings, Paul Jutte of Coldwater, Luke (Betty) Jutte of Versailles, OH, Mark (Thelma) Jutte of Fort Recovery, Aloys Jutte of Yorkshire, August (Betty) Jutte of St. Henry, Zeno Jutte of St. Henry, and Leonard (Betty) Jutte of Rockford, OH; 39 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Lavern Vagedes of Coldwater; and in-laws, Gerald (Norma) Hemmelgarn of Versailles, OH, and Ruth (Bob) Bettinger of Apollo Beach, FL.
Deceased are a grandchild, Faith; an infant brother, Carl Jutte, six sisters, Esther Keller, Mary Nieberding, Luella Barga, Helen Vagedes, Joan Schoenherr and Addy Hess, four brothers-in-law, Joe Schoenherr, Bill Keller, Ed Nieberding, and Delbert Barga; and two sisters-in-law, Rita Jutte and Betty Mae Jutte, and in-laws, Ernest (Helen) Hemmelgarn, Marceil (John) Meyer, Bernice (Harold) Frilling and Jean Hemmelgarn.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He also was a recipient of the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service. Julie retired from New Idea, Coldwater and was also a retired farmer.
He was a member of the American Legion, St. Henry, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Coldwater, Knights of Columbus, Coldwater, St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, Holy Name Society of the church and was also a church choir member for 38 years.
Julie took great pride in his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved singing, playing the harmonica, and a game of cards or socializing with friends and family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, Ohio, Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Wednesday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio. Veteran of Foreign Wars prayer service is 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by the Knights of Columbus prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Coldwater.
