Marjorie Pifer
Marjorie M. Pifer, 92, St. Marys, Ohio, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 7:10 am.
She was born in Chattanooga, Ohio, to Bertha (Leinninger) and LeRoy Pifer, both deceased. Marjorie lived for most of her life in Columbus, Ohio.
Marjorie was preceded in death by Sisters: Bea, Ruby, Glenda, and Donna Pifer, Twyla Pifer Dudley; brother, Gerald Pifer and Brother in Law, Eugene Behm
Surviving is a sister: Verna Behm, Celina, Surviving Brother in Law: Dr. A.B. Dudley, Columbus GA, Nieces: Donna (Carl) Pond, Debra ( James) Gibson of Rockford, Dana (Gary) Linn, of Celina, Elizabeth (Mark) Graham , and Nephew; James (Carmen) Dudley, of Columbus, GA. Loving Great Nieces and Nephews as well as Great Nieces and Nephews. Special friends, Vilai and Winget Siripun and family of Naperville, Ill. also survive.
She was Valedictorian of Willshire Class of 1940 and went on to obtain degrees from Ft. Wayne Business College and The Ohio State University Class of 1947. She has been a "Life Time Alumni" and a die-hard Buckeye fan.
Marjorie started career at Bohl Paint Co. in Columbus, Ohio and soon went to the Lazarus Department Store where she served as Executive Secretary for Mr. Charles Lazarus and then as the Lazarus Family Personal Consultant till her moving to St. Marys, Ohio in 2010
She was passionate for the Arts through the Pro Musica Committees, Womens' Clubs, and other Columbus Civic organizations. She enjoyed the Ohio Theatre presentations, the Columbus Symphony, and other noted speakers that presented in Columbus. A member of First Community Church, Columbus, she served on several committees and appointments.
She enjoyed traveling throughout the US, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as many countries around the world. Sharing her experiences with her family and friends.
Viewing will be held in the Meyers Community Room on the Campus of Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices, St. Marys, Ohio from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. On Monday, June 20, 2016.
Bill McOmber will give a closing meditation at 2:30pm at Otterbein and Graveside services by Rev. Tom Brunstrup of Chattanooga Methodist Church will begin at 4:30 pm. At Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, Ohio.
