Light snow will overspread the area from the northwest this morning. An increased coverage of snow showers is expected to develop this afternoon into the evening hours. Slick spots may develop on roads tonight as temperatures drop and northwest winds gust up to 30 mph. Coverage of snow showers is expected to decrease overnight before ending Monday morning. Most the area will see an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Locally higher amounts are possible in areas where heavier snow bands develop this afternoon into early evening.
Roadways may become slick. If traveling, be alert, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Edith Maurer
Edith S. Maurer, 90, formerly of New Knoxville, died 12:15 A.M. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community.
She was born February 14, 1926, in Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of Gustave G. and Selma S. (Schrolucke) Schroer. She married Richard F. Maurer on September 26, 1947, and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1963.
She is survived by her sons, Don (Sara) Maurer of New Knoxville; Paul (Shirley) Maurer of New Knoxville; by her daughter, Rita (Don) Schmidt of Findlay, Ohio. She is survived by her sisters, Irene Thompson of Piqua and Lois (Gerhard) Paulat of St. Paul, Minnesota. She is survived by seven grandsons, including Rich (Trish) Maurer; Scott (Bobbi) Maurer; Jason Maurer; Tim (Terri) Maurer; Joe Maurer; Mark, (Ann) Schmidt; Chris (Maggie) Schmidt; by her granddaughter, Faith (Travis) Gingerich as well as eighteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two step-granddaughters: Lori Froning and Aimee (Ron) Wicker; by three step-great-granddaughters and by one step-great-great-granddaughter.
Edith graduated from New Knoxville High School in 1944, from Lima Memorial School of Nursing in 1947 and received her Bachelor's degree from St. Joseph's College of Maine in 1983.
Edith worked as a registered nurse at Barberton Citizen's Hospital, and then worked at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys for 33 years, the last 15 years of which she was Director of Nursing Services, retiring in 1986.
She was a lifelong member of the First Church of New Knoxville.
In retirement, Edith became actively involved with community affairs, traveled and was dedicated to her family. Her commitments included being a church deacon; a member of the Women's Guild and fulfilled various other roles with the church. In the community she was a New Knoxville Councilwoman; an officer of the New Knoxville Historical Society; and a Garden Club member. Also, Edith was a longtime member of the Auglaize County Council on Aging; a past president of the Auglaize County PERI; a member of the JTDMH Foundations Board; a past president of Hospital Guild 23; a secretary of the JTDMH Auxiliary.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the First Church of New Knoxville, the Reverend Joel Bucklin, officiant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to either Grand Lake Hospice or the Cancer Association of Auglaize County.
