Rendezvous encampment
Photo by Amy Kronenberger/The Daily Standard

Pre-1840 Rendezvous re-enactors set up their encampment along the Miami and Erie Canal during St. Marys' 47th annual Walk with Nature and eighth annual Fall Festival on Sunday. The re-enactors offered hikers along the canal towpath a glimpse into the lives of the area's earliest settlers through demonstrations and period-specific attire and camp equipment. The festival also featured Civil War re-enactors, a craft show and farmers' market, several youth activities and a train ride through historic downtown St. Marys. The event was sponsored by the St. Marys Kiwanis Club, the Heritage Trails Park District and several other community partners.
