Rita R. Buening, age 89, of Coldwater, died Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.

She was born June 27, 1927 in Wendelin to the late Joseph & Mary (Osterloh) Bohman. On October 7, 1950, she married Urban A. Buening, and he died September 9, 2016.

She is survived by children: Leo (Julie) Buening of Minster, Diane Buening of Coldwater, David (Kathy) Buening of Maria Stein, Dennis (Cindy) Buening of Coldwater, Mark (Kelly) Buening of Celina, Teresa (Mike) Rhoads of Maria Stein, Carol (Steve) Miller of Coldwater and Phyllis (Jim) Rutschilling of St. Henry; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings: Velma Mescher of Coldwater, Luella Prenger of St. Rose, Norman (Lorena) Bohman of Maria Stein, Dorothy Barlage of Minster, Evelyn (Tony) Eilerman of Ft. Loramie and Joan Wuebker of Minster; and in laws: Ernest (Dot) Buening of Coldwater, Roman Buening of Maria Stein, Marita (Tony) Grilliot of Celina and Mary (Bob) DeMange of Greenville, Juanita Buening of St. Henry, and Jane Buening of Coldwater.

She is preceded in death by siblings and in laws: Bud Mescher, Greg Prenger, Vernon Barlage, Fritz Wuebker, Greg (Helen) Buening, Paul Buening, Albert Buening, Louis Buening, Clarence Buening, and Norma Buening.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, ­­­­­­Coldwater Eagles Auxiliary. She also bowled at Pla-Mor lanes for over 40 years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery

Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm on Tuesday and 9 to 10 am Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
