Cloyd Lawrence Jr.
Cloyd Albert "Clyde" Lawrence, Jr., 67, of Mendon, Ohio, died at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at the Van Wert Community Health Professionals In-Patient Hospice in Van Wert, Ohio.
He was born December 10, 1949 in Lima, Ohio, the son of Cloyd and Eunice (Rease) Lawrence Sr., both who preceded in death.
He was a graduate of Coldwater High School and a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. On July 4, 1978, he married Rose Beougher, and she survives in Mendon.
Clyde was a conductor on the Norfolk-Southern Railroad, retiring from there in 2010, and lived most of his life in the area.
Clyde loved to ride motorcycles and restore old cars. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and friends until he was no longer able to do so. He loved his wife and children, and his five grandchildren, who he enjoyed spending time with.
Surviving in addition to his wife Rose are four sons: Robert Buschur of Coldwater, Ohio; Rick (Becky) Buschur of Celina, Ohio; Tony (Angel) Lawrence of Venedocia, Ohio, and Kurt Hawkins of Lakeview, Ohio; and five grandchildren: Mitchell Dukin, Jasmine McChaney, Allison Black, Rease Lawrence, and Tessa Lawrence. Two sisters and one brother also survive: Linda (Bill) Kan of Nashville, Tennessee; Patty (George) Connode of Denver, Colorado; and Charlie (Sharon) Lawrence of Springfield, Ohio.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
Memorials may be directed to the Van Wert Community Health Professionals' In-Patient Hospice in Van Wert, Ohio, or to the Cancer Association of Mercer County, in Celina, Ohio.
