Leonard Clune
Leonard F. Clune age 83 of Minster, Ohio died at 5:30 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born on February 5, 1934 in Minster to the late Fred & Stella (Holdheide) Clune. He married Alma E. Steinke on November 24, 1956 in Montezuma, Ohio and she preceded him in death on April 25, 2012.
He is survived by children: Jane & Ron Phlipot, Troy, Nancy & Wally Wagner, Minster, Rick Clune, Piqua, sister: Vera Gudorf, Tipp City, brother Bob & Susan Clune, Minster sisters-in-law: Ann Clune Denver CO, Phyllis Clune, Buffalo, NY, Delores Schwieterman, Maria Stein, 10 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers & sisters, Elmer Clune, Edna & Oscar Stueve, Velma & Clete Heitbrink, Ernie Clune, Dorothy & Roger Schwieterman and in-law Merlin "Pete" Gudorf.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Leonard was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Maria Stein American Legion and VFW and a past commander of the American Legion. He was a member of the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club, and avid card player and loved fishing and hunting. Leonard was a graduate of St. John High School and a lifelong farmer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday April 20, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, April 19 & Thursday, April 20 from 9 to 10 AM.
Burial with full military honors will take place in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein, Ohio.
The family requests donations be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
