On October 15, 1944, he married Florence E. Shively who then became his partner working the family farm together. Surviving are his three children: a son, David (Lois) Gause; two daughters, Vickie (Tim) Bollenbacher, and Marjorie (Jay) Ellis, all of Rockford; 11 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 1 sister, Eulah Shank of Hoagland, IN; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are his loving wife; parents; an infant son; 4 brothers, Ralph, Gale, Chester, and Lewis Ray Gause; 6 sisters, Beatrice Huston, Thelma Gehron, Anna Gehron, and Mary, Esther, and Honore Gause who all three passed away as young children; 3 half-brothers, Clarence, LeRoy, and Charles Gause; and 1 half-sister, Amotie Gause.
Services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Tom Brunstrup officiating. Burial will follow at East Bethel Cemetery outside of Rockford.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and Monday at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. up until the time of the service.
Following the wishes of Lloyd, the family requests that memorials be directed to Chatt United Methodist Church or the Cancer Association of Mercer County ... as Lloyd would have jokingly said "I don't want any 'brush' lying around, can't eat it!"
