Esther Evers-Wuebker
Esther R. Evers-Wuebker, age 91, of Burkettsville, died on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at The Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born March 14, 1926 in Burkettsville, to the late Henry & Agnes (Reier) Siefring. In July of 1947 she married Walter (Pete) Evers and he died in 1977, she then married Victor Wuebker in November of 1990 and he died in 1997.
She is survived by three children, Judith & Jerome Beyke of St. Henry, James C. Evers and Mary Wehrkamp of Ft. Recovery and Constance & David Walterbusch of Chickasaw; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lucille Kramer of Celina, Mary Catherine Liette of Burkettsville, Eulalia Zumberger of Anna, Mildred Mendenhall of Coldwater, Jeanette & Paul Lennartz of St. Marys and Virginia & Robert Schaefer of St. Anthony; and in laws, Clem Evers Jr. of Coldwater, Irene Siefring of New Weston.
She was also preceded in death by siblings, Alfrieda & Ralph Rose, Aloys & Hilda Siefring, Herbert Siefring, Cy & Romilda Siefring, Florentine Siefring, Elmer & Rita Siefring; and in laws, Leon Kramer, Hubert Liette, John Zumberger, Ron Mendenhall, Herbert & Esther Evers, Florence & Anna Evers, Alfrieda & Sylvan Siegrist, Harold & Ludwina Evers, Clarence & Rita Evers, Edward & Rita Evers, Greg & Marian Evers and Henry & Irene Evers.
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Sodality. She worked at the former Buckeye Overall in Coldwater and on the family farm. Esther enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, crocheting and fishing, she played lots of cards and also enjoyed ballroom dancing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 8, 2017 at St. Bernard Church, Burkettsville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 6 PM and on Monday from 9 to 9:45 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
