Esther Marchal
Esther Marchal, age 90 a resident of Portland passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Celina Manor in Celina, Ohio.
She graduated from Ft. Recovery High School in 1945. Esther was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland, past president of Nobel Busy Bees, and was a member of Altar Rosary Society, Salamonia VFW Auxiliary, and Moose Lodge.
She was a Homemaker, a waitress at Loy's Sale Barn restaurants, a sales clerk at True Value in Portland. She then worked at B&S Excursions in Portland before retiring with her husband from dairy farming.
Esther Marchal was born March 16, 1927 in Ft. Recovery, Ohio the daughter of Stephen and Rosella (Minnich) Braun. She married Odus Marchal on June 16, 1945. Odus passed away December 17, 2009.
Survivors Include: 2 Sons: Larry (wife Winifred) Marchal - Salamonia, Indiana, Mike (Deanna) Marchal - Portland, Indiana; 2 Daughters: Mary Ann (companion Chris) Mangen - Amherst, Wisconsin, Theresa (husband Mike) Baucher - Celina, Ohio; 2 Brothers: Carl (wife Judie) Braun - Celina, Ohio, Ivo Braun - Portland, Indiana; 3 Sisters: Rita Heyne - Celina, Indiana, Loudonna (husband Carl) Van Den Bosch - Coldwater, Ohio, Linda (husband Don) Dues - Celina, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, step grandchildren.
Esther was preceded in death by two infant sons Thomas and Donald, one sister Marcene Burris, and two brothers Virgil Braun, Linus Braun.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Thursday with prayer service starting at 4 pm in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am Friday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland. Father Robert Moran will officiate the service and burial will follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery West of Bryant.
Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
