Richard Moden
Richard Dee Moden, age 77 of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday Dec. 19, 2017 at the St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1940 in Mercer County to the late Henry Robert and Dorothy V. (Ebright) Moden. On June 16, 1962 he married Rosalie Muter, who died June 7, 2016.
Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law Crystal & Tony Olwine of Celina, Leslie & Ned Puthoff of Maria Stein, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, two brothers and sisters-in-law William & Mart Moden of Oak Grove, LA, Don & Donna Moden of Celina, sister Norma J. Moden of Celina, brother-in-law Delbert Tangeman of Duncan, S.C.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister-in-law Betty Tangeman.
After graduating from Celina High School with the Class of 1958, he served his country in the United States Army for two years in Germany and one year in the Army Active Guard Reserve. He retired from Agco New Idea and then went to work for Reynolds and Reynolds.
He was a faithful member of the Montezuma Church of Christ. Richard enjoyed his wood working and loved to spend time with his grandkids and his family.
Private family funeral services will be held at the Leh-man-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Cliff Beck officiating. Burial will follow in Burge Cemetery in Montezuma.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County P.O. Box 624 Celina, Ohio 45822.
