Marion Tenyak-Folk
Marion Tenyak-Folk, 92, of St. Marys, OH died 2:30 p.m. Saturday December 23, 2017 at Otterbein-St. Marys.
She was born April 3, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI to Edward and Christine (Eisle) Dapper. On November 25, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI she married Emil Tenyak, who died April 20, 1973. On May 25, 1990, she then married James H. Folk, Sr., who died December 13, 2009.
Survivors include: son Stephen (Pam) Tenyak of St. Marys, OH; daughter Chris (Tom) Stroh of Martin, TN; daughter Carol (Gregory) O'Connor of Winfield, IL; daughter Sandra (William) Hunter of St. Marys, OH; son David (Cheryl) Folk of Naples, FL; son Michael (Patti) Folk of St. Marys, OH; daughter-in-law Peggy Folk of St. Marys, OH; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents Edward and Christine Dapper; first husband Emil Tenyak; second husband James H. Folk, Sr.; brother Thomas Dapper; brother Richard Dapper; sister Lucille Deschaine; son James H. Folk, Jr.; daughter Suzanne Folk-Gaut.
Marion and Emil moved to St. Marys in 1948, when Emil was hired at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. She was a very active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its altar-rosary sodality and was a CCD instructor for many years.
In 1974, she began working for the Island Shoppe in downtown St. Marys, and retired from there in 1990. She also was a caregiver for various individuals and volunteered for the school activities of her children.
Marion was very social and outgoing. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and many close friends.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 30, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, with the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher, celebrant. Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 9:00-10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High Street Chapel) in St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be directed to: Otterbein St. Marys (Benevolence Fund), Holy Rosary Catholic Church or Auglaize Co. Council on Aging.
