* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...The following counties, in west central Ohio, Auglaize, Champaign, Darke, Hardin, Logan, Miami and Shelby.
* WHEN...Until 1030 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 724 PM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Troy, Sidney, Piqua, Bellefontaine, Kenton, Ada, West Milton, Versailles, Covington, Newport, Bradford, Anna, Fort Loramie, Jackson Center, Forest, Russells Point, De Graff, Pleasant Hill, Botkins and Lakeview.

Jeanette Giere
Jeanette Giere age 87 of Maria Stein passed away at 3:09 AM on January 4, 2018 at Miami Valley Medical Center, Dayton.
She was born on November 17, 1930 in Fort Loramie, Ohio to the late George & Jennie (Barga) Raterman. She married Edmund Giere on January 5, 1952 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. He survives in Maria Stein.
She is also survived by children: Ed Jr. & Deb Giere, Montezuma, Joe Giere & Linda Schmitmeyer, Maria Stein, Tom & Angie Giere, Vandalia, Gary & Connie Giere, Versailles and Jennie & Steve Wuebker, Maria Stein, daughter-in-law Vicki Giere, Celina, 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren and 1 sister-in-law Sharon Giere, Haines City, FL.
She was preceded in death by sons: Larry and Steven, daughter Sheryl Giere, daughter-in-law Marge Giere, 1 grandchild: Samuel Wuebker, brothers & sisters: Ruth & Richard Dressman, Alvin & Dorothy Raterman, Ralph & Louise Raterman, Maria & Ivo Meinerding, Mary & Rog Wyen, George & Marie Raterman, Dorothy & Robert Berning and Edna Raterman, in-laws: Cordula & Alphonse Post, Loretta & William Schwartz, Julianna & Clem Gehert, Regina & Ward Brush, Otto Giere, Aloys (Ally) & Verdella Giere, Alvin Giere.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality of the church. Jeanette was a homemaker and farmer's wife. She loved to crochet, read and spend time with her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Ohio with Rev. Gene Schnipke celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 8, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 9.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
