Donald Kable
Donald Lee Kable, age 90, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 at the Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on Nov. 22, 1927 in Celina, Ohio to the late Lawrence Edgar and Melissa Freda (Mesarvey) Kable.
After graduating from Celina High School where he played trumpet in the band including taps for veteran funerals and sportswriter for CHS teams, he served in the U. S. Army. Subsequently Don was an underwriter for various insurance companies including Celina Insurance Group, Central Mutual in Van Wert and Sentry in Orlando, Fl. Later Don Was co-owner of Pogue's Clothing Store and sole-Proprietor of Kellermeyers Men's Clothing Store.
He was a member of Celina Lions Club, Celina Chamber of Commerce and the St. Mary's Rotary Club. He was a member of the choir and taught Sunday School for St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survived by Velone (Houts) Kable his wife of 67 years, daughter and son-in-law Tess (Don) Hawk of Terrace Park, son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey (Carol) Kable of Galion, two grandchildren Tara Hawk (Justin Ratner) and Ross Hawk, one great granddaughter Ada Ratner, a brother and sister-in-law Larry and Mary Lou Kable of Columbus.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joseph Kable.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, with Rev. Jeff Gramza and Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery in Celina.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Church.
