Carolyn Smith
Carolyn J. Smith, 82, St. Marys, OH died 8:30 a.m. Saturday March 17, 2018 at Otterbein-St. Marys.
She was born December 29, 1935 in Celina, OH to Charles and Carolyn (Handley) Walters. She was married to David "Red" Smith, who died July 4, 1977.
Survivors include: son Brice (Judy) Smith of Bushnell, FL; son Jeff Smith of Indiana; brother Terry Snider of Dover, OH; brother Craig (Vickie) Snider of St. Joe, MO; brother-in-law Larry Shockling of Pittsburgh, PA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: father Charles Walters; mother Carolyn Walters-Snider; husband David "Red" Smith; son David Smith; sister Allis (Ted) Real; sister Barbara Shockling; step-father Arthur Snider.
She was a graduate of Celina Senior High School and St. Rita's School of Nursing in Lima, OH. She worked many years as a staff nurse for Dr. Elizabeth Y. Kuffner in St. Marys. She later retired from JTDM Hospital in St. Marys, where she was manager of the phlebotomy lab.
Rites are scheduled to begin 3:00 p.m. Tuesday March 20, 2018 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys, with Pastor Robert Sweeney, officiating. Private burial will take place at the Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina, OH.
Visitation 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
