* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...The following counties, in west central Ohio, Auglaize, Darke, Mercer and Shelby.
* WHEN...Until 700 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 356 PM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Fort Loramie, New Bremen, Minster, Newport, New Knoxville, Russia, Osgood, Willowdell, Chickasaw, Kettlersville, Yorkshire, Lake Loramie State Park, Egypt, Maria Stein, Mccartyville and Houston.

Ervin Ahrens
Ervin E. Ahrens, age 91 of Coldwater (formerly Osgood), died Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. Rita's Hospital in Lima.
He was born March 16, 1927 in Osgood to the late Edward & Pauline (Zimmerman) Ahrens. On October 15, 1949 he married Verlina (Knapke) and she survives in Coldwater.
He is also survived by his children, Rick & Roxann Ahrens of St. Sebastian, Ken & Sue Ahrens of Coldwater, Kathy Hartke of St. Henry and Don & Alice Ahrens of Coldwater; twelve grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; siblings and in-laws, Bob Ahrens of California, Irmie Wendeln of Sidney, Doris Ann Brunswick of St. Henry and Mary Knapke of Coldwater.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law Bill Hartke; two granddaughters Lisa & Laura; siblings and in-laws, Velma & Al Davis, Ginny Ahrens, Evie & Jerry Smith, Leo Wendeln, Duke Brunswick and Bud Knapke.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood, the men's holy name of the church, where he was a lay distributor for many years, Maria Stein Knights of St. John and Maria Stein American Legion.
Ervin served in the US Army at the end of WWII, he was a lifelong farmer and worked at Winner's Meats in Osgood. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and following the Cincinnati Reds.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Nicholas Church with Fr. David Zink, officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Martin Cemetery, Osgood.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, January 3, and 9:00 to 9:45 am Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
Memorials may be made to the Briarwood Activity fund.
