John Stelzer
John Stelzer, age 88 of St. Henry, died Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born June 19, 1932 in Carthagena to the late John & Bernadina (Wuebker) Stelzer.
On May 30, 1960 he married Ruth (Reichert) Stelzer and she died April 28, 2019.
John is survived by children and in-laws, Joe & Tina Stelzer of St. Marys, Ron & Kim Stelzer of Celina, Barb & Tim Harter of Celina, Matt & Michelle Stelzer of St. Henry, Mark Stelzer of Gahanna, and Roger Depweg of St. Henry; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two on the way; siblings and in-laws, Imelda 'Sis' Puthoff of Chickasaw, Ken & Elaine Reichert of St. Henry, Joan & Phil Rengers of Chickasaw, Edna Reichert of Coldwater, Ivo Schwieterman of Celina.
In addition to his parents and his wife, John is preceded in death by a daughter Linda Depweg, siblings and in-laws: Corinna Stelzer, Elenora Shockman, Henry Stelzer, Ludwina Bergman, Florian Stelzer, Willibald Stelzer, Frances Stelzer, Werner Stelzer, Norbert Stelzer, Delphina Quinter, Nothburga 'Butch' Geise, Mary Ann Schwieterman, and LaVerne Reichert.
He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, and The Heritage Club. John worked for Beatrice Foods for 31 years and was a custodian for St. Henry Schools for 17 years.
Mass of Christian Burial following all CDC guidelines will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at St. Henry Church. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:00 to 10:30 am Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Care or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
