The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ronald Swaney
Ronald "Ron" Aaron Swaney, age 61, of Sidney, Ohio passed away at Wilson Health in Sidney on October 21, 2021 at 2:47 am.
He was born November 22, 1959 in Celina to the late William Charles and Virginia (Meyer) Swaney. On August 21, 1982 he married Cynthia (Sexton) Swaney and she survives at the residence in Sidney.
Ron is survived by four children, Erica Swaney, California, Ethan Swaney, Emily Swaney and Aaron Swaney all residing in Sidney; seven grandchildren, Ethan Jr., Vincent, Sean, Xavier, Zayleigh, Wakelyn and Carmine; brothers and sisters, Robert (Peggy) Swaney, Celina, Richard (Jodi) Swaney, Celina, Rebecca (Dennis) Steinbrunner, St. Marys and Rajean Smith, Celina; brother and sister in-laws, Anne (Thomas) Namey, Tennessee, Francis (Rolf) Ozamiz, North Carolina, Patricia (Joesph) Goodman, North Carolina, William (Kathy) Sexton, Texas, John (Kristy) Sexton, Texas, Charles (Robin) Sexton, California and James (Laurain) Sexton, California; and 32 nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Jane (Robert) Schelich.
Ron graduated from Celina Senior High School in 1978. He had a passion for football and later coached little league for his sons. Ron attended the Ohio State University Highway Patrol Academy and was an auxiliary policeman for seven years in Celina. Ron was presently working for Francis Furniture in Sidney. He spent 35 years with them and proved his worth by being their top salesman for the duration. He will be remembered for his gentleness and sense of humor. He was a wonderful man of God and always a peacemaker. We lost him too soon, but we know he is rejoicing in Heaven.
Funeral services will be held at Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Mick Whistler officiating; where the family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at State Line Cemetery on the Ohio - Indiana border.
