* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
* WHERE...Portions of Indiana, including the following counties, Dearborn, Fayette, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union and Wayne, Kentucky, including the following counties, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton and Robertson, and Ohio, including the following counties, Adams, Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Hardin, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Logan, Madison, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby, Union and Warren.
* WHEN...Through Friday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A lull in rainfall will continue for much of the day. However, additional storms will move into the area later this afternoon. The risk of heavy rainfall will be greatest tonight into early Friday morning. There is also the potential for storms to repeatedly move over the same locations, which increases flash flood risk.

Mary Smith
Mary M. Smith, age 81, of rural Portland passed away on Saturday December 10, 2022 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born in Portland on February 21, 1941 the daughter of Orville and Donna (Kile) Monroe. She was married on December 8, 1957 to Max Smith and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2011.
Mary had worked at Jay Garment and Cooper Foods. She was a member of Bellefountain United Methodist Church, Ladies Aid, Busy Bees Home Ec. Club and was an avid reader, enjoyed cross word puzzles, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons James Smith of Fort Wayne and Larry Smith (wife Karen) of New Palistine, Ohio, two daughters Sherry Garke (husband Dennis) of Fort Recovery, Ohio and Brenda Kaup (husband Dennis) of Fort Recovery, Ohio, two brothers Richard Monroe of Pennville and Gary Monroe of Sharpsville, IN., one sister Irma Hierholzer of Jamestown TN., brother in law Myron Johnson of Peru, IN., two sister in laws Nell Monroe of Portland and Donna Bradfrod (husband Richard) of Sukin, FL., Seven grandchildren and Nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Gordan Jackson presiding. Burial will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 - 7:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Heart Fund.
