Leo Thieman
Leo George Thieman was born to Henry & Clare Thieman on August 15, 1932, in Burkettsville, OH. At the age of 91, Leo passed on to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 17, 2023, in Dayton, OH.
Leo was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the end of the Korean Conflict. He worked at the former New Idea factory in Coldwater for 47 years. Leo was a member of the St. Henry American Legion, and the Coldwater Eagles.
On June 12, 1954, Leo married his wife Thelma Mae (Truscott) Thieman.
Leo is survived by his wife of 69 years, Thelma Thieman, and their children: William Thieman of St. Henry, Edward & Brenda (Yoeckel) Thieman, Robert & Mary (Szotak) Thieman, and Linda (Thieman) Leopard, all of Kettering. Also surviving Leo are his grandchildren, Joey & Rachel (Unger) Thieman of Boston, MA, Tony Thieman, Adam & Amanda (Reed) Thieman, and Benjamin Thieman, all of Kettering, as well as sisters Alma (Thieman) Soloman, Mary Ann (Thieman) Hemmelgarn, and a brother Jerry Thieman.
In addition to his parents, Leo is preceded in death by siblings: Agnes (Thieman) Rammel, Irene Thieman, Rita (Thieman) Keller, Wilma Thieman, Lewis Thieman, Paul Thieman, and Carol (Thieman) Brunswick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry, Ohio. Burial in St. Henry Cemetery with military honors will follow the funeral mass.
Friends and family may call from 10:00am - noon on Saturday, September 23, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
In lieu of flowers and gifts the family would appreciate memorial contributions to be made to Hospice of Dayton, who took gracious care of Leo in his last weeks here on earth.
