Gerald Steinlage
Gerald F. "Jerry" Steinlage, age 81, of St. Henry, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
He was born November 22, 1942, in Celina, to the late Albert & Cecelia (Bergman) Steinlage. On January 13, 2007, Jerry married his wife, Patricia A. Sextro. Jerry is also survived by siblings and in-laws, Janet & Art Bernard of St. Henry, Sr. Bonnie Steinlage of Cincinnati, Phyllis & Bob Reier of St. Henry, Patty & Henry Uy of Dayton, Kay & Jim Grieshop of Rockford, and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and was a lifelong farmer on his family's farm. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He worked at the former New Idea factory in Coldwater and was one of the last men to leave the plant when it closed in 2000.
Jerry enjoyed making molasses and served as secretary for the National Sweet Sorghum Producers and Processors Association. For his work with the Sorghum Association, he was awarded the title of "Kentucky Colonel." Jerry's family would like to thank the staff at The Gardens at St. Henry for their professional and compassionate care of Jerry.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. Henry Catholic Church. Following the funeral mass burial will take place in St. Henry Cemetery.
