The Mercer County Elks Golf Club opened up its new 10,400-square-foot, single-story clubhouse over Memorial Day weekend. The facility, located at 3242 U.S. Route 127 outside of Celina, features brick and white siding, large windows looking out to the course and a covered entryway, along with outdoor seating areas, like a nearly 3,000-square-foot patio that can be enclosed during winter months. There are also three golf simulators on the north end of the clubhouse for off-the-course practice. The project was in the works for five or six years, with engineering services done by Garmann Miller and construction completed by Brackett Builders. In addition to being a social club with around 550 members, the golf course is home to girls and boys high school golf teams from four schools: St. Henry, New Bremen, Coldwater and Marion Local.
