Curtis Grube
Curtis Edward Grube, age 26, of Xenia, Ohio, formerly of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
He was born on January 12, 2000, in Coldwater, Ohio, to Joe and Kim (Schwieterman) Grube.
In addition to his parents, Curt is survived by his wife, Alyssa "Aly" (Crownhart) Grube, whom he married on May 10, 2025; his siblings, Cody and Claire Grube of Miamisburg, Ohio, Abbie and Ben Dilworth of Kettering, Ohio, and Faith Grube and fiancé, Issac Jacobs, of Coldwater; his niece, Calla Grube; his grandparents, LaVern and Barb Grube of Fort Recovery, and Ben and Hilda Schwieterman of Fort Recovery; his father and mother-in-law, Tom and Crystal Crownhart of Powell, Ohio; his in-laws, Chance Harris of Ada, Ohio, Carolyn Crownhart of New Braunfels, Texas, and Camryn Joyce of Nashville, Tennessee; his God Parents, Lori Acheson and Gary Hess; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Curt is also survived by his beloved pets, Charles, Butters, and Mr. Morris.
Curt was a 2018 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, where he played football and was a proud member of the 2015 State Championship team. He went on to attend The Ohio State University, graduating early in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Curt was employed as a Technical Director with Spectrum News.
He was a devoted sports fan, especially when it came to the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Indianapolis Colts. His passion for football extended beyond the field, as he proudly served as commissioner of his longtime fantasy football league. Curt also enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly fishing and hiking with friends. He also enjoyed play Xbox and took great joy in spoiling his beloved niece, Calla.
More than anything, Curt will be remembered for his kind and generous heart. He was the type of person who would drop everything to help someone in need and was always there to lend a listening ear or offer support. Curt touched countless lives through his selflessness, compassion, and quiet strength. His gentle spirit and the love he shared with others will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A celebration of Curt's life will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Christ Chapel, Fort Recovery.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, July 3, 2026, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
