Michele Trisler
Michele Elaine Trisler, 55 years young, left this world too soon on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Marion General Hospital in Marion, surrounded by her loving family.
Michele was born July 16, 1970 in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Donald & Sue Ann (Schlemann) Klosterman. Michele attended Celina High School in Celina, Ohio and graduated in 1988. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1998. Michele would then further her education at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where Michele received her Master's Degree in Creative Writing.
Michele taught high school English at Dublin Jerome High School for the past 26 years and was beloved by her students and colleagues for her warmth, smile, kindness, and student-centered focus. She truly cared about her students and her colleagues. She was also the advisor for the writing team and creative writing club.
Left to cherish Michele's memory are her amazing and supportive husband Forrest Trisler; her talented daughters Sylvie & Louisa Street; Father Donald Klosterman; brothers Jeff (Lesley) and Brian Klosterman; sister Kristy (John) Gruber; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Sue Ann Klosterman, earlier this year in February.
Michele loved walking her German Shorthair Pointer, Ada, at Delaware State Park and Gallant Woods. She was a nanny for 5 years in Boston. Michele enjoyed traveling with her daughters and doing cross country road trips.
Michele will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, her colleagues, and her students. She was a talented writer, thinker, and teacher, and her gifts and contributions in these areas are substantial. Always willing to help out and to participate, and always with an endearing calmness, Michele inspired those around her to care about themselves but also the world around them. She leaves behind students who felt loved but also inspired, and colleagues who felt supported but also challenged to be their best. Memories of Michele will always include her warm smile and contagious laugh, her energy and enthusiasm, her loyalty to people and causes, and her willingness to be a caring adult to her students.
Michele let her brightness shine on all around her, and it was palpable even if it was only for a simple interaction. Although the world will be a little less kind and loving without her, rather than sadness, those who love her can affirm that Michele so clearly lived up to Bessie Anderson Stanley's 1904 view of success: "[She] has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much; who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who has filled [her] niche and accomplished [her] task; who has left the world better than [she] found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who has never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best [she] had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction."
Friends may join the family on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm at the Snyder Funeral Center, Delaware Chapel, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware, Ohio 43015. Where services celebrating the significance of Michele's Life will take place at 4:00 pm with Pastor Tammey Wilden Officiating.
In Lieu of flowers please feel free to make donations in Michele's honor to one of the following organizations: Dublin Jerome High School Writing Team or Compassus Hospice.
