Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

William Bishop
Former Montezuma resident William George "Bill" Bishop, 90, of Lima, died at 4:15 a.m. Dec. 21, 2011.
He was born March 1, 1921, in Lima, to George Ambrose "Am" and Rose Eleanor Daley Bishop. On Oct. 16, 1944, he married Helen Marie Callahan, who died Oct. 20, 1982. On Oct. 2, 1985, he married Dorothy M. Walls, who died Nov. 26, 2008.
Surviving are children, Trudy (Ron) Gossard, and John (Shirley) Bishop; stepdaughters, Peggy Muhlenkamp and Pat (Steve) Hennessey; sister-in-law, Virginia Kraft; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are siblings, Rev. Benedict "Jack" Bishop and Robert Bishop; sister-in-law, Joan Bishop; and stepson-in-law, Ed Muhlenkamp
A 1939 graduate of St. Rose School, St. Rose, he enlisted in the Army Air Force on Dec. 8, 1941 and served in the China Burma Indian Theater.
He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima, a former member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma, and St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Sebring, Fla. He owned and operated Premier Casket Company until his retirement in 2006.
He was a past president of the Lima Golf Association. He was the only player in Lima Golf Association history to win all four city championships. He was inducted into the Lima Allen County Golf Hall of Fame in 2003.
He was a life member of Lima Elks. He was a member of Mercer County Elks Golf Club, the Lima VFW and American Legion Posts in Lima and Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. today and 9:10-:30 a.m. Friday at Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Service, Lima, where the Lodge of Sorrows Elks 54 will conduct a memorial service at 7:45 p.m. tonight. Military rites by VFW Post 1275 and the U. S. Army Air Force will also be conducted.
Memorials may be made to St. Rita's Hospice and for Masses at the church.
