Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Helen Fleming
Helen Louise Fleming, 81, Rockford, died Dec. 21, 2011 at her home.
She was born May 13, 1930, in Columbus Grove, to William Henry and Clara Barbara Merschman Landwehr. On Oct. 16, 1948, she married Harold Garwood, who died May 16, 1974. On Dec. 5, 1987, she married Norman L. Fleming, who survives near Rockford.
Also surviving are children, James (Peggy) Garwood, Ashland City, Tenn., Judy Garwood, Holgate, and Joan (Lindain) Brehm, Celina; a stepdaughter, Laura (Musa) Akel, Jacksonville, Fla.; siblings, Norbert Landwehr, Mendon, and Alice Youngpeter, Delphos; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Leona Fisher.
A graduate of Delphos St. John High School, she was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Rockford, and Celina American Legion Auxiliary. She retired from General Electric.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Ken Alt officiating. Burial will follow in Willshire Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford.
Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice, Coldwater, or to the Cancer Association of Mercer County, Celina.
