Snow showers associated with an arctic front are moving through this morning, providing a quick accumulation of snowfall. With wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph, the snow showers combined with blowing snow are reducing visibility and creating challenging travel conditions. These conditions are most impactful on roads that are more rural and are aligned from north to south. Even after the snow ends, elevated winds will continue to blow snow into the early afternoon.
Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

William Poppe
William "Bill" Poppe, 83, St. Marys, died at 3:25 a.m. July 13, 2006, at St. Marys Living Center.
He was born Aug. 19, 1923, in St. Marys, to Ferd and Myrtle Greer Poppe. On January 5, 1946, he married Joan Makley, who died on April 29, 2002.
Surviving are four sons, Craig (Carolyn), Atlanta, Mark, St. Johns, Don (Mary), Port Clinton, and David, California; two daughters, Chris (Cleve) White, Wilmington, N.C., and Linda Jordan, Continental; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Virgil, and a sister, Pauline Elschoff.
He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles, all of St. Marys. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Graveside services are 12:30 p.m. Monday in Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. Jason King officiating. Calling is 5-7 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m.-noon Monday at Cisco Funeral Home, St. Marys.
