Light snow across the area early this morning will increase in coverage and intensity toward sunrise in the I-70 corridor. This band of moderate snow will push south affecting the Tri-State region by mid morning, eventually pushing south of the area by early to mid afternoon.
Snow amounts of 1-2 inches will common for a good portion of the area on grassy surfaces, with melting on concrete surfaces limiting accumulations. Main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on mainly bridges and overpasses.
Temperatures today will remain steady mainly in the upper 20s. These cold temperatures combined with gusty winds of 20-25 mph will result in wind chill values in the teens to lower 20s.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Monday morning commute.

Esther Allen
Esther Allen, 99, of Lima, died at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 30, 2006, at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
She was born March 25, 1907, in Miller City, to Mathias and Dorothy Wagner Schmenk. In 1961, she married Harvey Allen, who died Dec. 25, 1977.
Survivors are four grandchildren, Jerry (Ruth) Dewitt, Poland Springs, Maine, Sandy (Ed) Fortman, St. Marys, and Deborah (Mark) Uhlenhake and Rick (Jan) Poppe, all of Celina; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Betty Bowersock; and two great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and worked at DWG Cigar Factory, Lima; Lima Tank Plant; and Russell's Point Amusement Park. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289 Auxiliary, St. Marys, and St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. today at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.
