Prentiss Tomlinson
Prentiss F. Tomlinson, 73, formerly of 1020 W. High St., St. Marys, died Feb. 6, 2007, at his residence in Alexandra, Va.
He was born Jan. 21, 1934, in Mendon, to Prentiss F. and Arline L. Quilling Tomlinson Sr.
Surviving is a sister, H. Evangeline Tomlinson, Alexandra, Va.
He was a professor at Mount Olivet Nazarene College, Kankakee, Ill., Ohio Northern University, Ada, and Wright State University, Dayton. Following his retirement he was employed at North American Rockwell Corp., Columbus, Senior Computer Scientist for Logicon Corp., Dayton, Gould, Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and managed his sister's medical practice in Alexandra, Va.
He was a 1952 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys, received his bachelor's of arts degree from Mount Olivet Nazarene College and continued his studies at The Ohio State University where he received a master's degree in mathematics and computer science. His post-graduate studies were at Rutgers University, University of Arkansas, University of Oklahoma, Argonne National Laboratories, NASA Langley and Chicago IBM Center.
He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, St. Marys, and had attended First Baptist Church, Alexandria, Va., and National Presbyterian Church, Washington, D.C.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Church of Nazarene, St. Marys. Burial is at Tomlinson Family Cemetery, near Mendon.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys
Contributions can be made to the St. Mrys church.
