Herold Johns
Former St. Marys resident Herold H. Johns, 88, of Toledo, died Feb. 24, 2007, in Toledo.
He was born May 4, 1918, in Johnson County, Neb., to Edward and Emma Oellerman Johns. On Feb. 17, 1946, he married Edith Sudman, who survives in Toledo.
Surviving are two daughters, Kay (Jeff) Krempec, Sylvania, and Nancy (Tom) Kopcho, San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Elsie Maurer, Anna; and six grandchildren.
He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, St. Marys, where he was a mechanic. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the 185th Field Artillery 34th Division and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton, and VFW Post 9289, St. Marys.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Joy Miller officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the church and the American Heart Association.
