Parkway girls slip to 1-1 on the season

Parkway fell to 1-1 on the season as Wayne Trace beat the Panthers 71-45 at Panther Gymnasium.
The Raiders pounced on the Panthers with a 24-5 first quarter, only to have Parkway outscore Wayne Trace 19-11 to cut it to 35-24 at the half. Wayne Trace responded with a 18-10 third quarter to take a commanding 53-34 lead.
Tara Luth paced the Panthers with 11 points. Jamie Guggenbiller and Hannah Harshman added eight points each with Harshman pulling down eight rebounds.
Becky Ruble led the Raiders (1-2) with 18 points. Elyse Myers added 14 with Renee Bidlack scoring 12.
Parkway travels to Convoy next Tuesday to face the Crestview Knights.

Lakers down jayvee Flashes
Wright State University-Lake Campus evened its mark to 2-2 on the season a 104-84 win over the Kent State junior varsity team on Sunday at the Mercer Y.
The Lakers trailed 51-45 at the half before putting together a blistering second half to knock off the Flashes.
Marion Local grad Damon Bertke led the Lakers with 22 points, 17 coming in the scond half.
Brooks Topp (New Bremen) scored 11 of his 21 points in the second half. Travis VanSkyock (Fort Recovery) added 19 with Donny Carroll (St. Marys) scoring 11.
The next home game for the Lakers is Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. against OU-Lancaster.
The Lakers go to Taylor-Fort Wayne Tuesday.
