Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Dorothy Piekenbrock
Coldwater native Dorothy M. Piekenbrock, 78, of Tucson, Ariz., died Nov. 16, 2007, in Madeira Canyon, Ariz.
She was born June 23, 1929, in Coldwater to Carl and Gertrude Kaiser Giere. On April 19, 1950, she married Roman Piekenbrock, who died July 21, 1991.
Surviving are a son, Joseph, Amado, Ariz.; a daughter, Linda Chadburn, Madeira Canyon; and a sister, Barb (Larry) Goffena, Coldwater.
Deceased are two sons, Frank and Karl; a brother, Louis Giere; and a sister, Virginia Drees.
She was treasurer of the Madeira Canyon Association.
Funeral Mass was Nov. 21 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Green Valley, Ariz. Her body was cremated.
Arrangements were handled by Green Valley Mortuary, Sahuarita, Ariz.
