Mary Ashton
Former St. Marys resident Mary Geraldine Ashton, 89, died May 22, 2008, at the Hearthstone Inpatient Hospice, Irving, Texas.
She was born Dec. 28, 1918, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Earl L. and Elizabeth Scheeseman White. On Aug. 18, 1945, she married Lee Ashton, who died Dec. 13, 1983.
Surviving is a daughter, Jane, Dallas, Texas.
Deceased are two brothers, William and Wesley White.
She was a homemaker and worked at the Union-Carbide Corp., Kokomo, Ind., and had managed a residential care facility in Montour Falls, N.Y. She was a graduate of Barnes Business College and was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys.
Private services were held May 24, 2008, at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Judy Ball officiated. Burial was at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
