Local agriculture officials agree rain is needed and yields will be down this year, but the jury is still out on how great yield losses will be.

WAPAKONETA - An area businessman is heading to prison for scamming numerous area victims including two southern Mercer County men who each lost more than $100,000.
Brian K. Selby, 41, 234 Southway Drive, St. Marys - the former owner of Affordable Motor Sales in downtown St. Marys - was sentenced Monday to 14 years and 11 months in prison during a standing-room-only hearing in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court. He was ordered to pay a total of $326,902 in restitution to the victims. [More]

After tying for first in the team standings over the weekend at the Lima City Tennis Tournament, Celina and St. Marys met Monday in a sort of tiebreaker when the teams met at Celina's courts for a Western Buckeye League dual match.
The Roughriders took two of the three singles while Celina dominated the doubles and got a big win from Shelby Decker as the NetDogs took the match 3-2 to improve to 3-0 in WBL duals. St. Marys suffers its first WBL loss in falling to 2-1. [More]
