Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Jeffry Hemmelgarn
Former Celina resident Jeffry Hemmelgarn, 55, of Sarasota, Fla., died Sept. 22, 2008, at Manatee Hospital, Sarasota. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born July 30, 1953, to Eugene and Kathleen Link Hemmelgarn. His mother survives in Celina. He married Carolyn Dianne Weisenborn, who also survives.
Other survivors are two daughters, Diana, Tampa, Fla., and Amy, Bradenton, Fla.; and a sister, Jane Seibert, Celina.
He worked at Celina Moving and Storage and Avon Cabinet Corporation, Sarasota. He attended Immaculate Conception schools, was a 1971 graduate of Celina High School and attended Lincoln Technical Institute, Indianapolis, Ind.
His body was cremated and there will be no services.
Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Bradenton, Fla., handled arrangements.
