Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Rev. James Burton Kendrick
Former Manchester, Tenn. resident Rev. James Burton Kendrick, 87, of 1808 Mallard Lane, St. Marys, died Dec. 6, 2008, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 27, 1920, in Tullahoma, Tenn. to B.C. and Ruby Pratt Kendrick. On Nov. 1, 1945, he married Ida Mary Dennison, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Rebecca (Wayne) Lybarger, New Bremen; and a son, James (Donnie), Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; a son-in-law, Dr. John H. Judd, Abilene, Texas; two brothers, Al D., Manchester, Tenn. and Archie Ray, Tavares, Fla.; two sisters, Rebecca J. Parsley, Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Ruby C. Woodard, Manchester, Tenn.; five grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Deceased are a daughter, Patricia K. Judd, two sisters, Lena Freeman and Frances Robinson; and a grandson.
He served as an ordained elder in seven churches of the United Methodist Church, West Ohio Conference, before his retirement in 1984. He held a General Class License, N5XOD, as a ham radio operator. He was a veteran of World War II, serving 22 years in the U.S. Navy before retiring from there in 1959. He graduated from George Peabody College, Nashville, Tenn. and received his Masters of Divinity at the United Theological Seminary, Dayton.
Services are noon Wednesday at the Coffee County Funeral Home, Manchester, Tenn. Burial is at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Tullahoma, Tenn.
Calling is 5-7 p.m. today in the Mediation Room at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community and 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
