Looking for ways to cut expenses, Fort Recovery Local Schools is offering a new severance package to entice eligible teachers to resign or retire, according to school administrators.
The option, approved recently by both the board of education and Fort Recovery Education Association (teacher union), would give an annuity payable over five or eight years depending on a teacher's circumstances. [More]
Greenville takes tournament title

The competition at the 2009 Lions Wrestling Invitational was intense with four teams in line for the team championship going into the championship round, with host Celina and Mercer County rival Coldwater within a few points of each other.
In the end, Greenville made the biggest jump, scoring 104 points in the championship and placement rounds to leapfrog Celina and Coldwater to take the title with 220 points. [More]

On Thursday a group of stakeholders supporting Ohio State Parks will meet with legislators in Columbus to discuss funding for state parks in these tough economic times.
A St. Marys woman is facing a fourth degree felony charge for stealing drugs from a St. Marys residence.
Susan A. Santanello, 52, 153 Waterbury Court, pleaded not guilty in Auglaize Common Pleas Court on Feb. 3 to the charge of "theft of a dangerous drug." She was released on her own recognizance.
