Kenneth Nichols
Kenneth J. Nichols, 79, 5319 Karafit Road, Celina, died at 8:28 a.m. Feb. 6, 2009, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Sept. 29, 1928, in Clark County, to Theodore and Bessie Lute Nichols. On July 6, 1979, he married Mary Sue Block, who survives.
Other survivors are three daughters, Kay Louise Decker, New Carlisle, Cathy Green, Charleston, Ind., and Connie Stockdale, Springfield; two sons, Bob Deskins, Winchester, Ky., and Mark Jones, Piney Point, Md.; two stepsons, Steven (Linda) Nichols, Columbus, and Lloyd Nichols, Ansonia; two sisters, Delores Craig and Ruby (Jack) Myers, both of Donnelsville; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, Lloyd, Leon, Charles, Jack and Ted; and a sister, Mary Lanum.
He retired from St. Marys Iron & Steel Corporation, where he worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home, the Rev. Bruce Head officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
