Phyllis Nihiser
Phyllis L. "Phyllis Lou" Nihiser, 81, 10701 state Route 118, Apt. 16, Rockford, died at 4 p.m., Oct. 22, 2009, Shane Hill Nursing Home, Rockford.
She was born April 8, 1928, in Fostoria to Walter and Inez Audrey Foor Schaadt. On May 20, 1951, she married Carl E. Nihiser, who died Nov. 8, 2002.
Surviving are a sister, Winifred (Robert D.) Ruhlin, Van Wert; a sister-in-law, Sharon Adkins, Van Wert, and two nephews.
Deceased is an infant son, Jeffery Lynn; and a sister, Alice L. Farmer.
She was a nurse for Dr. Walter Scheidt for ten years. She retired in 1982 as a registered nurse at Van Wert County Hospital after 30 years. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church and a 1946 graduate of Van Wert High School. She completed nurse's training at Baroness Erlanger Hospital, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Paul W. Miller of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is at Ridge Cemetery, Ridge Township.
Calling is 1:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
